METAL DOGS is a casual top-down shooting action game starring a fighting dog amidst a post-apocalyptic Japan. In this game, you take control of one of three charming canine characters—a Shiba Inu named "Pochi," a Doberman called "Bell," or a Bulldog known as "Bonanza"—each brought to life with the excellent voice work of popular actor Hiro Shimono.

Set in a devastated world where humanity has been nearly wiped out by the "great destruction," you begin your adventure in a ruined village at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Revived by the enigmatic Dr. Minchi, the heroic dog sets out in search of its lost master while battling ferocious monsters in ever-changing dungeon settings. Each dungeon offers a unique experience with randomized terrain and treasures, ensuring that no two runs are alike.

Combat in METAL DOGS revolves around a variety of weapons, categorized into machine guns, cannons, and special equipment. Machine guns provide rapid fire and quick reloads despite their lower power, cannons deliver high-impact shots with fewer bullets and slower reloads, and special equipment—such as missiles—offers ranged attacks. Thanks to a flexible weapon slot system, you can customize your load-out to suit your preferred play style, whether that means concentrating on firepower or opting for a balanced approach.

Adding excitement to your adventures is the thrill of item collecting. Weapons and armor may come with randomly assigned additional effects like increased damage or greater magazine capacity. These items also have varying levels of rarity, with rarer equipment boasting more powerful enhancements, catering to the hack-and-slash element of hunting for better gear.

The game also features a system of dangerous adversaries known as "WANTED" monsters. These particularly formidable foes, including colossal opponents like the elusive giant tank "Rommel Ghost" and the heavily armored, missile-equipped rhinoceros known as "Missileceros," come with lucrative prize money for those brave enough to take them on.

In Early Access, players can explore over 25 quests, confront more than 5 types of WANTED monsters, experiment with over 35 types of weapons, and enjoy over 10 hours of gameplay.
