Cogmind is a turn‐based sci-fi roguelike that takes you into a procedurally generated world filled with tactical combat and exploration. In this game, you create your own robot by collecting and repurposing parts from defeated machines. Whether you attach weaponry, mobility units, power sources, or various utilities, each component gives you the freedom to shape your playstyle—you might become a slow, heavily armed tank, a nimble flier that evades enemies, or even a stealthy hacker with a blade. As the battle unfolds and you lose parts, you’re forced to rebuild yourself using remnants from foes, keeping every run fresh and unpredictable.

The environment is alive and richly detailed, featuring dozens of map types, hand-crafted encounters, and a variety of robot types that each follow their own routines. Instead of an experience-point system, growth comes from experimenting with different salvage and adapting to new challenges, making every decision about how to upgrade or modify your self crucial to your survival.

One of Cogmind’s standout features is its advanced terminal-style interface, which blends traditional ASCII art with modern mechanics, giving you both powerful keyboard and mouse controls. This flexibility lets you experience everything from drag-and-drop inventory management to quick command shortcuts, so you can focus on strategy whether you prefer stealth, hacking, or direct combat.

The game doesn’t hold your hand—its learning curve encourages you to gradually master the environment and learn from each run. Nearly every item in the game is subject to destruction, meaning that an efficient, adaptable playstyle is key; you’ll constantly be replacing worn-out parts with better equipment scavenged from the battlefield. With multiple narrative paths leading to a series of unique animated endings, a plethora of sound and particle effects, and a world that has been lovingly developed over more than ten years, Cogmind challenges you to think on your feet and immerse yourself in a truly living robotic ecosystem.
