Every playthrough offers a new, randomly generated murder mystery where events, clues, motives, and even the murderer change each time. There’s no walkthrough that can prepare you—the only one who can solve the mystery is you. Your combat and negotiation skills are determined by the cards you choose, with a diverse selection that includes options like Heartstopper, Poison Slash, Weak Joke, and Long Talk.

For those who prefer a more peaceful journey, Tactical Diplomacy allows you to avoid conflict. By using conversation cards to reduce your enemies’ Rage levels, you can pacify them and foster a non-violent outcome. Your character, the Magister, comes in various forms with their own specialities and flaws—from a cunning alcoholic to an intelligent insomniac—each defining a different, exciting playthrough.

Should you need assistance on your quest, you can recruit a human ally such as a Mercenary, Spy, or Sage. Alternatively, you can befriend a local furry companion—a cat or dog—to stand by your side in challenging encounters. Set in the captivating fantasy world of Silverhurst, you have 14 days to navigate this rich environment, forming alliances, intimidating adversaries, and uncovering the truth behind the murder.
