In this adventure, you guide the princess of Easania, who is far from home and trying to escape a mysterious cult. Alongside her unusual companions, you explore a vibrant world filled with humans, beasts, and dragons, all struggling to coexist after the assassination of the king of Skyweather. As the prophesied end of the world approaches, the princess must rely on her wits, blade, and royal upbringing to return home before it's too late.

The gameplay involves navigating distinct areas using traditional 2D platforming mechanics, with each character controlled separately, allowing for unique interactions with the world. You'll visit villages, take on quests, play cards, and engage in turn-based battles with an active timing element. Battles require strategic timing and targeting, with up to twelve enemies attacking at once. Eliminating multiple foes grants momentum for more powerful skills in subsequent attacks.

Character progression is achieved by finding and applying items, which can be used for training, enhancing skills, or empowering specialties. Characters gain power levels by winning battles, completing quests, and collecting power fragments. These levels can be spent on the "Power Flow" board, a puzzle-like minigame that increases stats and unlocks new skills, rewarding careful planning and smart decisions.

The game features high-quality artwork, a varied soundtrack, and voice acting for major characters during battles. It offers multiple hours of gameplay, post-game challenges, and a New Game Plus mode. An optional story-focused mode is available, removing enemy encounters and simplifying story-based battles. Players can also enjoy "Quad Pro Quo," an in-universe collectible card game, to win unique prizes and complete their collection. A standard dual-analog gamepad is recommended, though keyboard support is available.
