Nuclear Blaze is a unique 2D firefighting game where you play as a firefighter dropped into a blazing inferno to investigate and rescue survivors. However, your mission takes an unexpected turn when you discover a mysterious military facility. The game features smooth controls and gameplay crafted by the creator of Dead Cells, offering an action-adventure experience filled with backdrafts, exploding walls, and sprinklers.

Players must strategically use their fire hose to control the flames and navigate through the facility. The game is not a roguelite or metroidvania, but it does offer a compelling story involving Site 16 and a secretive project, with some information requiring special clearance to access.

Nuclear Blaze also includes a "Kid Mode," designed for very young children, around 3 years old and up. This mode features simplified controls, infinite water, auto-aim, and levels that are easy to explore, ensuring a fun and safe experience for young players. Helicopters and fire trucks are abundant, catering to kids' love for these vehicles.

The game allows players to adjust difficulty settings to suit their preferences, similar to the approach taken by Celeste. This customization ensures that players can enjoy the game at their own pace, focusing on fun rather than challenge.

Originally created as a game jam entry for Ludum Dare, Nuclear Blaze received positive feedback and evolved into a more complex game, leading to the development of the special Kid Mode.
