Escape Simulator is a first-person puzzle game that you can enjoy alone or with friends in online co-op mode. The game offers a variety of highly interactive escape rooms where you can move furniture, pick up and examine objects, smash pots, and break locks. It also supports community-created rooms through a level editor.

The game features 28 rooms filled with puzzles crafted by real-life escape room designers. If it's not fixed to the wall, you can interact with it. All rooms are available for online co-op play, and while it's recommended to play with up to three players, community rooms have been tested with up to ten people. You can customize your character and team up with friends to solve puzzles together.

In Escape Simulator, you can examine everything, from reading books to inspecting ancient artifacts, to find clues for solving riddles. If you need to keep a clue handy, you can pin it to the screen for easy reference.

The game includes a room editor, allowing you to create your own escape rooms and puzzles. Thanks to workshop integration, you can also play rooms created by the community.

The rooms are organized into different packs, each with its own unique theme and story:

- Labyrinth of Egypt: You and your mentor discover an ancient labyrinth, but a trap separates you, leaving you to find a way out.
- Adrift in Space: An explosion wakes you up on a spaceship hit by debris, and you're heading towards the sun.
- Edgewood Mansion: Invited to a dinner at Dr. Edgewood's mansion, you find yourself solving a Victorian mystery instead of dining.
- Omega Corporation: Your friend vanishes while investigating the mysterious Omega Corporation, and you must follow their trail to uncover the truth.

Additionally, there are extra themed rooms such as escaping from Aperture Science Laboratories, the Among Us spaceship, Santa's Workshop, and more. You can also explore a spooky graveyard, a 70's themed room, Leonardo da Vinci's workshop, and even compete against friends in a Versus mode.
