"There Is No Light" is set in a world where humanity has been forced underground after a global disaster. In this new society, people have formed a religious community that worships a deity known as The Great Hand. This god periodically descends to take selected newborns to a mysterious place called the Sanctuary. The protagonist sets out on a perilous quest to open the gates of the Sanctuary and rescue his child.
